Cistus is one of those plants that seems to have it all – a good structural form that is pleasing all year round, with evergreen leaves and a long flowering season (all summer). Depending on variety, dimensions range from 30cm to 2m across and colours, from white to soft pink. I particularly love this bright, pure magenta Cistus x pulverulentus ‘Sunset’. It only grows to about 1m x 1m. It partners well with bright reds, yellows and purples, but also adds a splash of warmth to cool white and blue colour schemes. Great in Mediterranean-style or the English-Cottage-style gardens. Love it. 🙂
