Sow some wild oats!

The common form of wild oats is a menace to farmers in the UK, but the giant variety, golden oats or Stipa gigantea, is a lovely, swishy-swashy, garden-worthy plant. It grows to form a grey-green, year-round tussock of grass about a metre across, and throws up 2m+ golden panicle flowers that waft about from June to September. Heavenly!
