Vegetable companions

I’m fairly lazy when it comes to growing my own food, but rhubarb is so easy! I don’t have to do anything to it, and year after year, this patch provides me (and my neighbours) with as much rhubarb as we can eat! I like it’s bright red stems and big leaves as an ornamental addition to the garden, and I have interspersed clumps with grey-leaved globe artichoke plants (Cynara scolymus), which also seem to ‘get on with growing’ without my intervention. I’ve also mixed in some allium bulbs to colour the bed in May/June.
