OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAWith few pollinating insects around in the depths of winter, we can’t be expecting our plants to produce a mass of flowers, but there are many that will give us a great show of foliage. Here, the fuzzy, grey leaves of sage (Salvia officinalis) contrast with the glowing purple leaves of this low hedge made up of Pittosporum tenuifolium ‘Tom Thumb’. The leaves are shiny and crinkle to reflect the cold sunshine. Fab 🙂
